The video triggers some almost 30 years memories when I was learning the basics of programming and I am posting it here if you are a beginner and if you want to understand the computers a little better than you understood it until now (especially if you are a Windows user).

Long time ago, about 20 years ago, I used to write programms in C and developing different software from school and for some clients, writing games (simple games for playing around and also school), so the video is interesting for me. BBC News is asking an almost funny question in their show AI Decoded: Are we sleepwalking into an AI nightmare? and they are discussing about it trying to find some answers. My fast answer as a software engineer is an almost yes, my longer answer is yes, depending of the specific programmers precautions (the software engineers working in the Artificial Intelligence development).

Yes, Artificial Intelligence again. We’re slowly getting used to Artificial Intelligence doing uncannily human things - doing repetitive stuff, chatting with us, creating pictures and videos and in order to use them in your smartphone you should use a NPU (Neural Processing Unit) instead of GPU (Graphical Processing Unit).

From my point of vew the answer from the title is simple not, not normally at least not for now (they can be fooled in some cases), but the Artificial Intelligence is a good tool in many situations (not all of them) and it may become even better in the following years. For now BBC is warning among others entities and people the companies about the increasing use of artificial intelligence to carry out so-called CEO fraud: people are copying people's voices, images or even some reaction to get more and more money.

There have passed a few years since I last used a Compact Disk (DVD included)  and a part of my computers don't even have the units for them. But hearing that a new CD version with a bigger, much bigger storage capacity, made me watch the video.

Adding a virtual machine for a project or another kind of work may be necessary from time to time, and this time it's necessary just another Linux virtual machine installed on one of my computers. Fedora Linux again, and the installation package didn't have the option to minimize and maximize the windows like so many of uf are used to.

Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) software is being increasingly used to track down criminals and some of them can identify a person that is just moving around in the city surrounded by many other people. The recognition from social media images is often an even less important problem, their number too high is the most important problem, and those are just some examples from often extending list - BBC News is approaching the subject.

A software engineer like me knows of those for some time having more than 30 years of experience but it's pretty nice to listen them all.

All across the globe, labor shortages in agriculture are leaving crops untended and spoiling on the ground. Now developers are turning to robots and Artificial Intelligence to do the hard labor no one wants to do. As a Linux only user for more than a decade I can't say how is behaving the eleventh Windows version is behaving. In those years I have used Windows only a few minutes when I had to check a few things on a client's computer and I don't which Windows version it was installed on it.

This is the good and political year 2024 and a new utility for Linux was talked about on the Youtube channel Chris Titus Tech. I am letting this here for the posibility of being used by the Linux users, including me, when the time is good: this will grow to fix and address all Linux setup woes and time consuming tasks.

The answer to the question in the title is simply yes. The current Artificial Intelligence is a good or an excelent tool in many cases but it's still under development and it's still far away from being self aware. In time we can get something similar with Skynet or the Isaac Asimov's robots, or something that can go from one type to another: from enemy to friend or from friend to enemy.

Artificial Intelligence is a good tool in many situations but it still have issue in other situations and it's far away from the sel aware computers like Skynet and Artificial general intelligence even after more than 20 years of development and even if recently, in the last 2 years, few topics in tech have garnered as much buzz and excitement as Artificial Intelligence or generative artificial intelligence. The global release of ChatGPT in 2022 marked a significant breakthrough, but progress has slowed significantly since then. Early promises of more, faster or even "exponential" progress have given way to more incremental improvements.
