We are living in interesting times and I am thinking about one minor details: Microsoft and Apple are American companies, and their products cost money. Linux was developed by an European and it's free (Linux being just the kernel - some distributions, or distros as they are also called, being paid while most distros are also free). For people like me Linux is much better that Windows and macOS will ever be not because of money but because of features and performance.
