Future of Linux: a visionary tale from 2024

Consider this a good analyze of the Operating Systems (OS), a software class where Linux is include. I am quite interested of such analyses because I have been using Linux for a decade now and I will continue use it as long Linux is a good OS.

Why? Because it's better for me more than Windows and macOS will probably will be and because I can update it in terminal and I can customize it in a very good way.

Linux started like a personal Linus Torvalds' project and it became one of the used Operaring Systems and free software in the world. It's used in servers (including web server), desktop and smartphones (the Android used by Google for smaerphones is a Linux distro), many IoS devices and it wil be used in next years.

What do yout think will Linux look like in 5, 10, even 15 years from now? Will we still be waiting on the year of the Linux Desktop like some of us are expecting? Will security be a bigger issue or a bigger issue after the Artificial Intelligence will become aware? What about Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Will our Desktop Environments still be GNOME, KDE, XFCE, MATE, CInnamon, etc.

That Artificial Intelligence I mentioned will most probably learn from our experience and it will probably start using only operating systems like Linux or it will develop some operating systems similar with Linux and specific for it.
