Considering this let me tell you that TikTok argued yesterday in court that a USA law - which would see the platform banned unless it is sold by ByteDance - would have a “staggering” impact on the free speech of its USA users.
The law was prompted by concerns that USA users' data is vulnerable to exploitation by China's government even if TikTok and ByteDance have repeatedly denied links to the Chinese authorities. Probably no one or almost no one is believing them (those links would not be recognized even if they are real), but the companies sued to block the legislation in early May, calling it unconstitutional and an effective ban on the speech of its 170 million USA users.
