I am a fully Linux user, I can not verify if this is good and working but my previous experience with the old Windows versions tells me it's pretty good and it's probably working. Try it out, if it's working than you will be glad you are keeping your data at home. If you want to be even better you can switch to Linux. You may need still some software from Windows after you will migrate but you can have a dual computer where you can have both of them installed. If you want to work on those apps load Windows, if you want to work some application under Linux (apps being developed by your or other people) just start it.
