And there are a few reasons about it. One is that I have been reading Frank Herbert's Dune books a few times and I will always compare the movie or movies with them. The first book is not perfect but it's better than the movies. The best thing from the movies are the special effects, and that you can find in another lots of movies.
Second reason is that I am a software engineer and a science-fiction writer. I know better than Denis Villeneuve or Frank Herbert how a mentat is working because I am working somehow similar but worse then them (and the mentats have some lapses in the first book). Then I have practicing kendo (a martial art, Japanese fencing) for 22 years, so the fremens are lazy warriors in movies, I can do better than them without living in desert and they are very far away from the warriors from the book. No water discipline from book in the first movie, nothing to continue in the second movie.
But you can watch Denis Villeneuve on Dune part two if you do want to go to the movie. Nobody is stopping you. But do read the Frank Herbert's books first. All of them in Dune serie, not only the first one.
