As cities deteriorate and the fabric of society dissolves, the dawn of a new era is about to begin. It seems a lot has happened since super-intelligent chimpanzee Caesar (Andy Serkis) led an ape revolution in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. They have set up a nice, peaceful home for themselves in the forest and learnt to ride horses… while half the population of Earth has died from a virus.
Now the growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's new dominant species. Guess who wins.
The latest instalment in the Planet of the Apes reboot hits cinemas on 17 July.
