Date for early elections in Germany set for 23th of February 2025

A good news or a bad news, I don't know yet. Only time will tell how things will be going in Germany next year and the next few years. For the moment Deutsche Welle is saying that some reports were telling them that the government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz has reached agreement with the main opposition conservatives on a date for early elections. Scholz fired his finance minister last week, leading to the collapse of his three-way coalition.

The  Chancellor Olaf Scholz  originally wanted to hold a confidence vote next January leading to a snap poll in March. But on national television on Sunday evening he said he would be open to calling the confidence vote earlier after demands from the opposition for an earlier election date. So when will Germans be going to the polls? Deutsche Welle (DW) politics correspondent Matthew Moore has more.
