
The reason we eat meat, fruits and vegetables (among other things) is that humans are omnivores and some elements like B vitamins we need can be found only in meat.
The guys says we can heal faster and we repair our muscle after exercise (a workout or kendo practice) faster if we eat red meat (beef) but you should listen him very carefully. The only good thing I can understand now from what is saying it's something what I've known from some time. When we eat something our organisms are consuming some energy to digest those things. When we eat meat we consume less energy then we are eating vegetables and fruits to digest them and we can extract more calories from meat than some fruits and vegetables because of the fat found in meat, but we need all of them (meat, fruits and vegetables).
Maybe you are not eating fruits and vegetables every day but it's OK to eat big quantity of these because they are good (as taste) and we need them. Maybe you don't want to eat meat because you don't want to kill animals for this and it's OK - don't eat it if you really thinks so but you need to take supplements to offer your body what's missing.
