All these everyday items contain PFAS. Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (the PFAS) are a diverse group of thousands of chemicals used in hundreds of types of products. This group of chemical compounds makes human life more convenient and in the environment those chemical can enter the food supply through plants and animals grown, raised, or processed in contaminated areas. And the PFAS compounds are highly controversial because they are both toxic and long-lasting.
