Social Democrats appear to be in the lead in 2024 Romania's parliamentary elections

The news websites and Youtube channels are talking about the messed-up Romanian parliamentary elections, because they are really messed-up and I am not saying that just because I want a perty or another to win (I don't), but the stupidity is electing the Parliament again. For the moment ballot counting is underway in Romania's parliamentary elections but the exit polls put the governing Social Democrats in the lead.

The vote comes a week after the first round of presidential elections in which a far-right candidate won. Due to Romania's power sharing laws, the new government will choose the prime minister who will have to work with the winner of next weekend's presidential run-off. These elections could determine whether Romania continues its pro-EU path, or pivots towards isolationism.

Euronews is saying about us that Romania’s future parliament and government will continue the country’s strong pro-EU, pro-NATO and pro-Ukraine national strategy, despite a surge by ultra-nationalist contenders. That's a good dream for the moment, the reality is debatable and worse. Maybe Vladimit Putin had something to do with the messed-up situation, he may had used the native Romanian lack of education to help his people.

Reuters is pretty short, and that's not a bad perspective, just saying that Romania's ruling leftist Social Democrats looked set to win the most votes in a parliamentary election, fending off a resurgent far-right movement that challenges the country's pro-Western orientation, partial results showed.

Some hard at least four years are coming, for the Europe and for Romania - they are both related.
