Poland is planning on replacing climate-damaging coal with nuclear power, and there can be several reasons for that. Climate change can be one of them, Vladimir Putin's threaths can be another, and for the moment 3 American-style reactors are to be built directly on the Baltic Sea. According to surveys, around 90% of Poles support their country going nuclear.

There are obvious risks to nuclear plants, Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters being a part of the modern history, but there are also benefits. Coal and natural gases burned for heat are throwing lots of gases in atmosphere making it hoter and hoter, so what do you think human species should do next? Storing the nuclear waste from the nuclear fission in a safe place is necessary, nuclear fusion is much friendly for us and the nature but a controlled way to have energy from it is still under development.
