Mpox virus confirmed in Pakistan, health authorities say

After being found in Swenden (Northen Europe) yesteday, the mpox virus was confirmed in Pakistan. Slowly it seems to be closing to a pandemy like covid-19 not only just an epidemy like it is until now. For the moment,  it may be some danger but not so much you should lose your mind: mpox virus has been detected in Pakistan, the health ministry said, just days after the WHO declared the outbreak a global public health emergency.

A health ministry spokesperson said the sequencing of the confirmed case was still underway, and that it would not be clear which variant of mpox the patient had until the process was complete. For the moment the World Health Organization has advised against any travel restrictions to stop the spread of mpox but that may change in the following days or weeks.

The location of the confirmed mpox patient was unknown but he is a man said that had recently returned from Saudi Arabia so the virus may still be spreading.
