Metroid: The sky calls

Rainfall Films and director Sam Balcomb present a very interesing live action short set in the Metroid universe, starring Jessica Chobot (Nerdist) and America Young (Halo 5).

Metroid is a classic Nintendo franchise that envisioned through the lens of 60s-70s science fiction movies such as 2001, Alien, and Solaris. That univers was the concept for Rainfall’s most recent production. Instead of using a modern approach, for this short film it was developed a style more in tune with the themes that inspired the first Metroid game in 1986: isolation, exploration and the wonders of deep space.
