Lost River (2014)

Let's get a first look at Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River (formerly titled How to catch a monster) starring Matt Smith - the exclusive extract has been released just two days before its official screening at Cannes.

What's happened to Doctor Who floppy-haired, bow tie-wearing Raggedy Man? He seems to put his Converse to one side, shaved his head and undergone a full metamorphosis to star in this new movie... but I think he is just preparing for his face off with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator: Genesis that's going to be released next year.

Details surrounding this film have been sparse, with only small hints about the storyline or the cast being revealed: Lost River tells the story of Billy (Christina Hendricks), a single mother whose teenage son discovers a road that leads him to a secret underwater town. The clip below shows Bones (Iain De Caestecker) drifting in a dreamlike state in a gritty urban wasteland. Meantime, his mother is swept into this dark underworld.
