The mobile phones are a good tool but many people are using them wrong, they are staying a lot of time on Facebook, Twitter and other platforms like Youtube or Tik-Tok and they are not paying at all attention to whatever is happening around them. In some cases they were hit by cars or other vehicles just because they are crossing the streets without even looking around them. Learning from teacher is out of questions and when children and some people are involved bullying is almost a rule. Kids can also become addicted to social media and that's one other reason the people from Los Angeles want to avoid mobile phones in schools.
The schools will be able to decide how to implement the mobile phone ban, such as requiring that phones should be placed in a locker or pouch during the schoold hours or the entire day. The resolution directs staff to develop and present policies and a plan to the public before the board approves them within 120 days.
The ban will affect 429 thousand children.
