
Deutsche Welle News (DW News) is telling us that officials say the patient had been infected while staying in an area experiencing a major outbreak. That's not a good thing but it's how the viruses work and it's how the mpox epidemy may transform into a pandemy.
On Wednesday the World Health Organization declared a global public health emergency following an outbreak in Congo that had spread to neighboring countries. But both the WHO and the International Federation of the Red Cross are recommending that countries not close their borders.
