You may have heard of a therapeutic exercise, to write a letter to someone and then just toss it away. It’s supposed to help get thoughts and energy out, but without having an actual confrontation. Howard Inlet, a man grieving after the loss of his young daughter, writes letters to … not a person … but love, time and death. And Death comes to see him. Howard understands the conversations he’s having may make others think he’s losing it. But, at the same time, these conversations may give him back his life.
