Learning a programming language depends of each people what do you want to do with it. Programming in embedded C a microcontroller inside a vechicle or an autonomus vehicle is not the same of web development or web design, for example. The programming world has become big in the last few decades just like medicine, and in medicine if you have problems with the heart you are going to a specialist in that field not to a dermatologist. The same thing is in programming. You can learn the basics in a few weeks and therere are many tutorials on internet but having a big or huge experience in one field is taking a longer time. You can learn a programming language in the beginning and you can become an expert in it, but when learning a new programming language and new rules inside a company can also take time. The final destination in programming (which field you want to be expert in) only helps you.
